5 Skincare Tips For Teens

Now that you’re a teenager, you are noticing a lot of changes and one of the most major changes is with your skin. Your once clear complexion is now filled with blemishes and acne and you absolutely cannot stand it.

You don't know why you are breaking out, but you just want it to stop.

Maybe your skin is too oily or perhaps it's too dry.

There are many things you can do to have the clear skin you dream of.

Here are five ways you can get started today.

Wash Your Face

While this may sound like something your mom says to be redundant, it's not. You will want to wash your face multiple times a day.

It's a good idea to wash your face when you first get up in the morning to get all the dirt that may have accumulated on it overnight off.

You will also want to wash your face before you to go bed at night to get the dirt from the day off.

This is especially important if you wear makeup.

Open your pores by washing with very warm water and then close them by rinsing with cold water.

Take Off Your Makeup

Taking off your makeup goes hand in hand with washing your face, it's true.

You will want to get a great, oil-free makeup remover to get rid of the makeup on your face.

This is important if you wear waterproof makeup, because water alone won't get it off.

Be sure that after you use the makeup remover, however, you wash your face with water and cleanser.

Don't Pick at Pimples

Another thing you can do to help your complexion is to avoid picking at your pimples.

Sure, they are annoying and they're not pretty, but picking at them will only make the problem worse.

Leave them alone or treat them with acne medication.

Whatever you do, don't try to pop or squeeze them. Germs, dirt and oil can cause the condition to spread - leave it alone!

Use a Cleanser

If you have dirty pores, you will want to use a cleanser to get them clean.

Clean and Clear and Biore both make excellent exfoliating facial products that you can use to get the dirt out of your pores.

This will prevent you from getting those ugly blackheads.

Use these products sparingly, however, as too much can dry your skin out, and your skin will respond by over-producing oils.

It's a vicious cycle, so remember, "a little dab will do."

Eat Healthy

While this may sound silly, it's not. By eating healthier foods, you can really improve the look of your skin.

Greasy foods, and foods with high fat content like McDonalds or chocolate (sadness) may make your skin break out if you are sensitive to ti.

The next time you are craving fast food or a bon-bon, pick up a piece of fruit instead. Continue to do so and you will see clearer skin in no time.

As you can see, there are many ways that teens, just like you, can have clear and healthy skin.

Follow these tips to have the complexion you once had and to avoid breakouts. Your teenage years will be so much better with clear skin!
