"How Physical Exercise Helps With Stress Management" - 446 words

Many people think if they work hard they don't need to exercise. They think they get enough of a workout while working. While that may be true physically, the effects of a real workout works on more than just your body.

It also works on your mind because you are focusing your attention on the workout itself, whereas at work you're still thinking about all the stressful situations in your life or the stress your job causes.

Physical workouts are a lot like meditation in that way. So you can reap the benefits of both in one activity.

Sweating

When you workout you generally sweat. Sweating is a good way to help remove toxic buildup in your body. You get toxins from the food you eat.

Most food is packed full of preservatives that can have negative effects on your body and can add to your level of stress because you just don't feel as good as you could. Eating a healthier diet and breaking a sweat when you work out is a good way to help remove these substances from your body.

Blood Circulation

Physical activity gets the blood flowing which increases oxygen to your brain and other organs. Getting more oxygen to your brain will help you cope with stress better. The brain functions more efficiently if it has plenty of oxygen.

Exercise also releases certain brain chemicals that improve your mood and eases stress related emotions such as anger, frustration, irritability and depression.

Cardiovascular

Exercise is good for your cardiovascular health as well. As it improves it will become more efficient in delivering oxygen to the brain and will also help reduce your risk for heart disease and stroke.

If you're in poor health, adding exercise to your daily routine can help relieve the stress of worrying about your health and lower your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

Mental Focus

As mentioned earlier, exercise is a good way to help improve your mental focus. When you're concentrating on the workout and how good your body will feel it's hard to think about the stress. It may be difficult at first to concentrate on the workout, but once you start doing it, it becomes easier.

You should also be sure to make your mind focus so that you can avoid injury. If you're going through the motions without paying attention to form and doing a sloppy job, this can cause an injury, which in turn can lead to more stress. Pay attention while working out.

Anything that can take your mind off of stress is a good thing, but physical fitness adds so many more benefits than meditation or relaxation alone.

NEW YEAR PARTY GUIDE:

One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor....

The five stages of drunkenness..

Stage 1 - SMART

This is when you suddenly become an expert on every subject in the known Universe.

You know everything and want to pass on your knowledge to anyone who will listen.

At this stage you are always RIGHT.

And of course the person you are talking to is very WRONG.

This makes for an interesting argument when both parties are SMART.

Stage 2 - GOOD LOOKING

This is when you realise that you are the BEST LOOKING person in the entire bar and that people fancy you.

You can go up to a perfect stranger knowing they fancy you and really want to talk to you.

Bear in mind that you are still SMART, so you can talk to this person about any subject under the sun.

Stage 3 - RICH

This is when you suddenly become the richest person in the world.

You can buy drinks for the entire bar because you have an armoured truck full of money parked behind the bar.

You can also make bets at this stage, because of course, you are still SMART, so naturally you will win all your bets.

It doesn't matter how much you bet 'cos you are RICH.

You will also buy drinks for everyone that you fancy, because now you are the BEST LOOKING person in the world.

Stage 4 - BULLET PROOF

You are now ready to pick fights with anyone and everyone especially those with whom you have been betting or arguing.

This is because nothing can hurt you.

At this point you can also go up to the partners of the people who you fancy and challenge to a battle of wits or money.

You have no fear of losing this battle because you are SMART, you are RICH and hell, you're BETTER LOOKING than they are anyway!

Stage 5 - INVISIBLE

This is the Final Stage of Drunkenness.

At this point you can do anything because NO ONE CAN SEE YOU. You dance on a table to impress the people who you fancy because the rest of the people in the room cannot see you.

You are also invisible to the person who wants to fight you.

You can walk through the street singing at the top of your lungs because no one can see or hear you and because you're still SMART you know all the words.
