How to Deal With Night Sweats During Menopause

Aaargh.... this is one of the least favorite symptoms you have to deal with when menopause starts to attack you.

The menopause starts as soon as a woman reaches her 40’s. Though the process is gradual, it does not go unnoticed.

On one hand, being rid of the painful process of menstrual periods can bring a sigh of relief. But on the other hand, various mental and physiological disturbances makes life difficult for a woman.

These different emotional and mental changes going on in the female body during menopause can include depression, anxiety, fatigue, hot flashes, just to name a few.

One of the more unusual physiological changes is night sweating.

Sweating is normally a very useful process of nature, necessary to keep the human body temperature constant but, in the case of sweating during menopause, it can pose a serious threat to the health of the woman.

Night sweats are considered to be similar to hot flashes but, how they differ is that, they cause the body to become drenched in sweat for several minutes.

Though the sweating lasts only 5 to 6 minutes, the rest of the night is disturbed due to restlessness and depression.

Due to the sudden onset of sweating the body becomes over-heated and the woman feels very disturbed.

The issue of night sweats can be resolved to some extent by improving your sleep.

Try to adjust your schedule so that you manage to get some rest during day.

The more sleep you have, the easier it will be for you to adjust to the night sweats.

In addition, your food quality is very important and you need to focus on having a balanced diet.

You should increase the amount of fruit and vegetables in your diet.

Artificial, packet foods and junk foods should be avoided, and fat intake should be strictly controlled.

All of these kinds of foods disturb your metabolism.

As well, there are some medical remedies to resolve the problem of night sweats during menopause.

These include hormone pills which regulate the amounts of hormones being produced in the female body.

Alternatively, hormones can also be injected into the body or absorbed through patches.

But all of these methods are expensive and also have side effects.

Therefore, most people turn to diet as a solution, rather than resorting to complex medical treatments.
