The Sony Reader Touch Edition is the latest in a line of eBook readers from Sony. This newest model promises a sleek, ultra-thin design that looks great and also has the functionality you need.
This is a noticeable upgrade from the previous PRS700 model, tackling a few of its issues.

* Comes in black, silver and red versions,
* 512 MB memory (350 eBooks) with SD card expansion up to 16GB.
Pros of the Sony Reader Touch PRS600
The Sony Reader Touch does as its name suggests – provides touch screen features that help to make using the reader more natural than with other models. A simple touch will allow you to turn the page naturally and to forget that you’re reading from a screen as opposed to a book.
If you have a number of PDF files, the reflow function of the Sony Reader will help them to display better than they would on other eBook models. Users are also able to benefit from functions allowing access to free Google books and eBooks on loan at local libraries.
A built in dictionary has now been added as an improvement to older versions of the Sony Reader. Other functions are also useful for reading a variety of files, including Microsoft Word, and the expandable memory means that it can store a huge number of eBooks.
Cons of the Sony Reader Touch PRS600
One of the main complaints with previous Sony model PRS700 is that the screen was hard to read in some conditions as it reflected light. The PRS600 is a marked improvement, however glare is still an issue due to the touch screen, and the contrast of the display isn’t as strong as other models on the market.
Other eBook readers, such as Nook and Kindle, benefit from the fact that a PC isn’t needed to download eBooks. However, the Sony Reader PRS600 is lacking this feature, meaning that a computer is required in order to transfer files. The USB charging option also only works with PCs.

The Sony Reader Touch PRS600 looks undeniably sleek, and is a great size for an eBook reader. However, users who have a difficult time reading from screens may find the glare and contrast settings an issue.
For most users, however, the Sony Reader provides a great alternative to other big name readers on the market, just without the added function of wireless connectivity.
