The NERF N-Strike Stampede ECS from Hasbro has blasted its way onto the bestsellers list
Guns appeal to all ages but this one is designed for kids aged eight and up.
NERF have been making guns for years and each one is better than the last. As usual the gun is made from foam but don't let that fool you into thinking that this isn't a powerful blaster.
It works with high capacity clips and shoots up to three darts per second. It comes with a shield, scope and a tripod stand.
If your son wants to be like a real solider he will love the fact that the fore end grip converts to a bipod for extra stability.
It also doubles as a handle. The clips pop into the gun making a very realistic sound just like the real ones do
It is a heavy gun and does make quite a bit of noise so you can't expect to sneak up on your enemies.
You might want to buy the NERF vest or bandoleer kits to keep track of the darts otherwise you can spend a lot of time looking for them. You also need 6 D cell batteries to operate the gun properly making it rather heavy.
In fact it is impossible to operate the Nerf without the batteries although some people got around this issue by using AA batteries which reduced the fire power but also the weight.
The Nerf N Strike Stampede lives up to the reputation of this product. It doesn't jam, has realistic features and most importantly doesn't hurt when you shoot someone.
Your kids are bound to love it and it will get them running around outside with their friends rather than sitting on the couch.
Keeping them fit and active is great for their health. You can't really use the gun inside as the darts fly a long way up to about 25 feet in some cases with some people achieving 30ft plus.
Are there any problems with this NERF? Some people are complaining that the shield gets in the way of shots but that is probably because they haven't adjusted it correctly. The other issue is that you really need more than one of these guns.
If you have more than one son you would probably buy each of them a NERF but if you have only one child, you still need another gun for his friends to play with.
