One Minute Power Tip:

Goal Visualizations:

Why not daydream an entire movie about your goals. Get one goal in mind and imagine it playing out in a full color movie.

Now get a tape recorder and talk out the while idea on tape. Describe the entire thing out in detail using descriptive, colorful, uplifting, positive ideas.

Don't be afraid to use your imagination and describe how you can positively handle and play out the achievement of your goals.

Listen to the tape often until you have reached your goals.

Power Quotes

It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

- Tom Robbins

“SUCCESS is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day; while FAILURE is simply a few errors in judgment, repeated every day.

It is the accumulative weight of our disciplines and our judgments that leads us to either fortune or failure”

- Jim Rohn

Tips for your Happiness

How to Raise Self Esteem

Remember, your self esteem is only your own view of yourself- not anybody else’s. You may feel that you are worthless and not able to achieve anything, but others will not necessarily see this. Here are some tested techniques for developing a healthier level of self esteem;

Don’t compare yourself to other people. It is ok to admire an individual and want to achieve what they have achieved, but if you feel that they are much more attractive than you or you can never hope to achieve what they have done, then this will lower your self esteem even further.

Chances are that the individual admires certain things about you and your achievements.

If you are unhappy about your appearance, change what you can and accept what you can’t change. For instance, if you are overweight and this is making you feel bad about yourself, losing some weight might make you feel a lot more confident, and also improve your overall health.

If you don’t like your height or face, accept that these cannot be changed and are an important part of you. Learn to accept and love yourself just as you are.

Don’t be tempted to put your life on hold. It may be tempting to think ‘I’ll start swimming when I lose 30lbs’ but you are robbing yourself of something you may enjoy.

Just go swimming without focusing on your weight- the exercise will help you to lose weight and there will be people of all shapes and sizes at the pool. Chances are nobody will give you a second glance.

Take it one day at a time- make a commitment that you will do something every day to improve your self esteem, no matter how small.

This could be anything from reading a chapter in a good personal development book, looking for details of a new class, or starting a conversation with a stranger.

If your appearance is a cause of your low self esteem, go for a walk or a gym class or have your hair restyled.

The aim is to build your self esteem a little more each day- this is not so daunting as trying to do it all at once and will stop you from feeling overwhelmed.

Make sure you push yourself just a little more each day and your self esteem will naturally grow with each small step achieved.

What is Menopause and What Can You Do to Ease the Symptoms?

Menopause is something that happens to all women once they reach a certain point in their life. During menopause, a woman's body undergoes some changes and along with those changes come some very uncomfortable symptoms.

The severity of symptoms will vary from one person to another and can include by physical and psychological symptoms.

When a woman reaches the stage of her life when she begins menopause, her ovaries stop producing eggs.

The ovaries have the function of producing eggs each month and also to produce estrogen and progesterone, the hormones required to regulate the menstrual cycle.

The number of eggs a woman has in the ovaries is limited and during menopause the amounts of estrogen produced becomes fewer and as a result, fewer eggs are released.

A woman will notice this change as her periods will become less regular.

The production of estrogen becomes less and less until it reaches a very low amount at which point the release of eggs ceases.

A woman is in menopause when she has not had her period for a year. Menopause usually begins in the late 40's or early 50's but can occur much earlier in some women.

The ceasing of menstrual periods is only one sign that a woman is in menopause; there are other symptoms that most women experience.

Hot flashes are the most common symptom of menopause with around 75% of women experiencing this warm sensation in the upper body.

Along with hot flashes women may also experience vaginal dryness, joint and muscle pain, headaches and even an increased heart rate.

Around 70% of women will experience symptoms during menopause and some can make life uncomfortable.

Some of the more troubling symptoms of menopause are the psychological symptoms. During menopause women often suffer from mood swings, stress, irritability and even depression.

Many women will lose their sex drive and feel generally down with life. Hormonal changes are the primary cause of these symptoms although psychologically it can be difficult for some women to accept their change of life.

Unfortunately, there are also some more serious health issues that can occur due to menopause.

As the body produces lower levels of estrogen, women have a higher risk of developing health problems such as osteoporosis, brain disease or heart disease.

Vision problems, skin elasticity, poor bladder and bowel function are all conditions that can be caused by low estrogen levels.

There are medicines available, both traditional and natural to help lessen the symptoms of menopause and to also reduce the risk of any future health problems.

The most common symptoms of menopause can usually be treated with natural home remedies such as modifying your diet and increasing certain exercises.

Some simple changes in lifestyle will also help you to cope better throughout the menopause stage of your life.

There are many good books and online forums that can provide you with a whole range of strategies and natural therapies to try out before you decide if you need to look for prescription medications to deal with your symptoms.

How to set Goals for Success

Goal setting is one of the most powerful techniques you can use to attain what you want out of life.

You may already have a vague idea of what you would like to achieve, but goal setting provides the driving force to make this a reality.

Without setting goals, you risk drifting aimlessly through life, like a ship without a rudder.

Most of us subconsciously set goals each and every day without even being aware of it; for example, you have run out of certain foods, so your subconscious goal is to replenish these.

You make a list, plan your shopping trip, negotiate the store aisles and successfully return with the goods. Goal setting is a part of our lives anyway, so why not consciously set goals to allow us to achieve far bigger and bolder things than the weekly shop?

Setting goals allows you to achieve far more than just wishing for change to happen. You suddenly have a clearly defined plan of where you want to go and how you are going to get there. We now have a focus and long term vision in our lives, and should feel fired up and motivated to reach it.

The process of goal setting involves thinking about something specific you really want to achieve- this could be a fairly simple goal, such as going on holiday, or a larger goal such as setting up your own business.

You need to be very specific about what it is that you want- it is no use simply saying that you would like more money. It is too vague. You need to determine exactly how much money you need, and when you would like to have it by.

Once you have your goal, you then write it down as specifically as you can, and give it a time frame; for example a good written goal might be to be to take your family on a fortnight’s vacation in Hawaii in September.

This will work far better than writing down a vague wish to just have a family vacation sometime.

Once you have written your goal, you can then plan in the steps towards achieving this.

In our vacation example above, we may work out how much money we would need to save each month to pay for our trip, and plan to research family vacations in Hawaii online.

This allows us to measure our progress towards our goals, and adjust them if needs be.

Have a Laff!

Maybe this is where they got the idea for Benjamin Button movie, with Brad Pitt about the guy who gets younger instead of older: Perspective on life according to George Costanza:

"The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A death. What's that, a bonus?!?

I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way.

Then you go live in an old age home. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, then, when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day.

You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You drink alcohol, you party, and you get ready for High School.

You go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back, you spend your last 9 months floating with luxuries like central heating, spa, room service on tap, then you finish off as an orgasm!! Amen."
