Build a Life Based on Honor to Enjoy the Ultimate Personal Satisfaction

Getting what you want out of life, whether it’s in your personal relationships, your career or the success you seek in either, you need to achieve your goals with honor. If you look around at successful people in the world, you’ll see that some have achieved what seems like greatness on the outside.

But inside, they’re small people who battle guilt and shame because they reached the top using dishonorable methods. When people chase success by any means, it taints their success.

It sets them up to feel the burn of shame and a life as a fraud.

Sometimes people will do whatever it takes to get what they want - even if it means compromising their integrity. It may be that they just want the applause from other people.

Or it could be that they’ve lost focus of what’s really important—having to live with the person they’ve become at the end of the day.

Honor is something that isn’t found when you engage in shady personal or business dealings.

While some people think that they can hide a life without honor, they can’t hide it from themselves. And it’s that inner knowledge that will taint every success they ever achieve.

When you’re honest with yourself and with others as well as in your career or business opportunities, you won’t get caught up in trying to keep your story straight. You won’t live based on lies or duplicity.

You won’t have to strive to keep up with anything or hide from someone you took advantage of.

You’ll be able to live an authentic life and your personal and professional dealings will reflect that.

It’s always better to live your life above board and with honor. You can then feel pride in all that you’ve accomplished.

Because you’ll know you did it based on your own merit and not through some way of manipulating a situation or other people.

You can build a life of honor by refusing to take the questionable route in everything you do. Don’t do what you do for the applause of others. Be true to yourself and what you believe in.

Don’t allow your principles, your morality or your honor to be for sale. Never compromise to get ahead in any area of your life.

Make sure that the people you have in your life value honor as well.

If you fill your circle with people who don’t mind practicing shady dealings, you can become tainted by the same reputation that they have.

Let your circle of influence be made up of people who also value honor.

People who live a life based on honor discover that their credibility stands and does the talking for them. A life of honor lets you have the kind of personal satisfaction that no amount of money or success can give you.

Your Life Goals Aren’t Determined by Fate or Chance

It’s often said that one of the worst paths of action you can take is inaction. Essentially, this means that there’s nothing worse than doing nothing at all, and that you should at least stand for something in your life.

This same motto can be applied to the world of success - especially when it comes to chasing your life goals.

So many people get into this almost entitled sort of mindset in which they think they might be one of the lucky ones that just happen to have success fall into their lap.

In reality, there’s no such thing. Anyone who’s found real, lasting success has never just achieved it by chance - they’ve put in the real work for it.

It’s tempting to hope and dream that you might strike gold and just achieve success out of nowhere, but that mindset won’t get you very far.

If you spend your life wagering on hopes and dreams alone, you’ll stay in the same exact spot your whole life. You need to not only understand, but also accept the fact that if you want to be successful, you need to work for it, no matter what.

Waiting for success to just come to you signifies a lot of self-doubt and a lack of confidence. If you can’t even muster up the confidence and awareness to set your own goal and map out how you’re going to get there, it’s not likely you’ll achieve success.

That is, unless you change your strategy from a passive one to an active one. The first place you need to start if you’re hoping for success passively is to set a definitive end goal.

This is extremely helpful because you can’t really figure out a path to your goal if you don’t know what your goal is.

Otherwise, you’d be blindly working up to a point at which you might feel satisfied with where you’ve ended up.

The next natural step is to map out the path you need to take in detail. Be honest with yourself and figure out where you’re starting at, and what steps you can take to get to where you need to be.

This map cannot be too vague, or you’ll end up having a hard time actually making it to your goal. There’s no harm in getting really detailed with it, it just makes things easier for you in the future.
