Make Exercise Fun, Not Boring

You know you need to exercise. It provides health benefits, gets you in shape, helps you lose or maintain your weight, but it can be so boring, right? Well, it doesn't have to be.

Part of it being boring is the mindset you've created over thinking it's boring. Start working on how you think about exercise.

Don't think of it as boring. Instead, think of it as a tool to help you reach your goals and to feel better. Then find ways to exercise that you can enjoy.

Pick exercises and routines that are appealing to you. If you hate to run, don't do it. If you hate to swim, don't do it.

Find something you do like to do. Going for daily walks is one of the best exercises there is. You already do it, just not in an aerobic manner.

Get yourself out there and start walking. Go to a park or someplace you enjoy the scenery and get your daily walk in.

Set a goal and focus on that more than the exercise. Don't think about how much you hate it.

Think about what the end result will be if you keep it up.

Having goals is probably the most important aspect of anything in life, especially exercise and weight loss.

Think about the new clothes you'll buy, or fitting into your favorite pair of jeans.

If you're thinking about how much you hate to exercise, chances are you won't do it, so changing what you focus your thoughts on.

Switch up your routine. The same old thing can get boring every day. Choose a few things you like to do and rotate them throughout the week. Go for a walk one day.

Ride your bike the next and then go swim laps the following day. Keep it fun.

Anything that's monotonous gets boring. You have to change it up to keep yourself interested.

There's all sorts of things you can do; yoga, pilates, Zumba, Salsa dancing, dancing with your favorite music, walking, running, swimming, aerobics, kick boxing.

The possibilities are endless to what you can do to keep from being bored. Try different things. If you find something you don't like, scratch it off your list.

What if you find out that you hate them all? Well in that case you're simply going to have to pick some things and do them if you want to get in shape, lose weight and improve your health.

Having fun is a great motivator, but if you're at risk of having health problems, that's more important than how fun it is, so keep that in mind.

Try to get your friends or family involved. Going for a walk with your friends can be great fun.

You'll spend so much time talking that you won't notice you're actually working out.

People who have exercise partners tend to stick with it and make more progress than those who try to go it alone.

Join a gym. Being around other people who have the same goals can make it fun too. You'll have people to work out with and make some new friends too.

If you can't afford a gym membership, check to see if there are free community centers that have an indoor track or some kind of aerobics classes.

If there's a mall in your area you can join the mall walkers every morning. Most malls will open the main doors early so people can do their daily walk without being out in the weather.

Many people use the mall as their personal walking track because it is indoors and the weather doesn't keep them from getting in their daily walk.

Exercise is boring only if you let it be. You have to keep it interesting and keep yourself interested.

Your health and waist line depend on it. Pull yourself up by your running shoelaces and try the above suggestions.

These wall decals and posters are a clever way to trick your eyes and convince yourself that you are at your local commercial gym, and motivate you to keep pushing harder than ever.

What you see in the pictures is the actual image you would get to transfer onto your wall. You can get these in a range of sizes from 18" right up to 72 inch

These are such a good idea for rooms that are small, especially if you only have a rather poky old basement home gym that you want to decorate to make it feel a bit more spacious and more like the commercial gym you would be used to attending.
