Natural Acne Cures for Clear Smooth Skin

by Helene Malmsio

When trying to help your skin to become healthy and blemish free you should always look first to natural acne cures before you try out chemical treatments.

Learning the habits of good skincare will help you to have smooth, clear and trouble free skin for the rest of your life... good deal right?

Much simpler and cheaper than spending a lifetime of investing in every treatment and skin lotion on the market, just putting out fires instead of creating a clean palate to work from in the first place.

With this in mind, I have created a section on this site about how to clear skin blemishes, and I have even published a book for sale online at Amazon titled:
7 Ways in 7 Days to Clear Smooth Skin

It is true that if you invest just 7 days toward adopting one new way a day to improve your skin, you have the foundation for a lifetime of natural beauty.

Below are a few basic tips about using natural acne cures.

These are not from the book, but you should find them helpful as a starting point in learning about skincare.

Though you may not be able to prevent getting acne, you don’t have to run to the doctor for medicine when you have an outbreak.

There are some natural acne cures that can offer you the same, if not more, healing potential.

Best of all, these ingredients are much cheaper and very easy to obtain.

Of course, you first want to start with preventative measures.

Don’t irritate any outbreak by letting your hair rest anywhere on your face.

The oils from your hair can cause acne to flare.

For women, make sure that you’re wearing a type of makeup that’s not adding to the acne problem.

Keep your pores clean with a natural acne fighting soap.

Make sure that you’re getting plenty of minerals in your daily diet.

One mineral is especially helpful and that’s chromium. Chromium is used by the body to fight infections.

Another mineral useful in the fight against acne is zinc.

Make sure you use clean bed linens - especially a clean pillowcase every week.

Your skin deposits oil and bacteria onto your pillowcase each time you use it.

Now when an outbreak does occur, just head to the pantry or refrigerator and use ingredients you probably already have in your home.

First, try using a mask made of honey. Use organic honey mixed with an exfoliating ingredient such as oatmeal.

If the mask feels too heavy or thick, you can mix it with a little bit of olive oil to thin it out.

Tomatoes are also good to use to treat acne. Cut the tomatoes and place them directly onto the acne bumps.

Tomatoes contain malic acid, which is an alpha hydroxy acid.

This type of natural acid helps your skin to shed dead skin cells.

Alpha hydroxy acid is often an ingredient in over the counter medications used to treat acne.

Baking soda is also an effective, natural and very inexpensive way to treat acne.

Simply mix the baking soda with water to create a facial mask. Be very, very gentle when testing this on your skin, as it is very abrasive.

Baking soda exfoliates - so there’s no need to add an exfoliating ingredient.

Another natural cure for acne is yogurt. Yogurt contains microorganisms called probiotics.

Yogurt can be used as a food to treat acne, since it helps the body fight bad bacteria.

But yogurt can also be used as a facial treatment. You can use plain yogurt without fruit or flavors added to it.

Simply place it on your face like you would a mask, leave on for 7 to 10 minutes and then rinse off.

You may not have any of this at home, but it would be worth your while to get it - and that’s aloe vera.

This plant contains a gel within the leaves that can be applied to acne to get rid of the irritation and the swelling.

Remember to always be very gentle on your skin, and to always do a test patch on your skin somewhere with the treatment to make sure you have no allergic reaction, as even natural produce like fruit can have a bad reaction to your face if you just slather it on without testing it first.

You might not even know you are allergic to tomato or strawberry until you paste it onto your skin in that concentrated form of a fruit paste.

You are a life Saver!!

I recently discovered this site and I can tell you that my life has not been the same. I now come here EVERYDAY and spend at least 1 hour.

I used to spend that time browsing online fashion and beauty magazine which just means that I spend more. Now I have replaced that habit with coming here.

In future I will think about contributing articles as well. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! and God bless"
