How To Get Traffic Using Non-Google Sources

Ever feel like you just can’t win with Google? Ever feel that no matter what you do, or how hard you try – the little sod just won’t rank you as well as you deserve?

Well, for the next few paragraphs we’re going to stick two fingers at Google, and discuss alternatives to SEO. Penguins and Panda’s most certainly not invited!

Look, I’m not for a nanosecond suggesting you abandon SEO altogether.

But I am saying that if all you’re doing is being Google’s filthy little whore, and spending 100% of your time, energy and budget pandering to what it supposedly wants, you could be playing a very dangerous game indeed.

Because, even if you please it today, when the next big shake up comes round, you have as much chance of being flushed down the Google toilet as the next guy.

Here are some ways to insulate yourself against the Google slap:

Build Your Own Targeted Fan Base –
Focus On Developing Your Opt In List: Now more than ever, you should be working hard at creating your own pool of trusted followers, and there’s just no better way of doing this than creating your own opt in list.

Search engines at best can give you some traffic, but when they get to your site they won’t know you, or trust you any farther than they can throw you.

With your own well trained opt in list, it’s a different story altogether. These are people who have opted in to your list.

They have a keen interest in your niche, in what you have to say, and so in your products and services.

Your opt-in list is going to be a far more valuable source of traffic than Google will ever toss your way.

Always focus on building your opt-in list, and make it as easy as possible for them to sign up to your newsletter.

Incentivize them by offering something of true value - a digital gift like an eBook is normally enough.

Once you have them, captivate them with real killer content, and don’t make the fatal error of over selling via your newsletters.

Develop Membership Sites –
Protected content is always a good way of keeping people coming back to your site. The idea of there being something that others can’t quite see stirs the basic human instinct of curiosity.

It’s why membership sites remain popular in this day and age. They encourage people to come back. To see what new things have been added. And it so creates a brand loyalty.

Develop A Strong Presence Within As Many Authority Sites As You Can –
Google may be the head honcho, but the internet is a damned big place. There are several sites that are crawling with traffic.

Sites that have tons of traffic that you can tap into, that your competitors probably aren’t paying quite as much attention to.

Like the numerous social network sites with millions of active users. Pinterest. Facebook. YouTube. LinkedIn. The list goes on and on.

Commit to rising in the internal engines of these sites so that you can be easily seen and found when people search within these sites.

Accessing these pools of traffic can really lead to floods of traffic to your own money site over time.

Guest Posts On As Many Authority Sites As Possible –
Identify as many authority blogs and sites as you can, and offer your writing services to them for free.

This is a particularly potent tactic if you happen to be new and upcoming, because you gain brand recognition and these sites are all probably trying very hard (and paying small fortunes) to get as much traffic for themselves.

By featuring regularly, you can siphon off a fair bit of this traffic to your own sites via your sig link.

Set Up Joint Ventures –
Within the IM niche, a lot of products and services are sold via JVs.

A JV is when two business or site leaders agree to cross promote their products, and agree to share the proceeds of all sales.

Similarly, tactics like solo ad swaps are also used by some site owners to bolster their opt-in lists.

And do you know what the most ironic thing is?

Aside from insulating you from the roller coaster ride that is, and forever shall be, search engine optimisation – many of the tactics discussed above will actually help you to rank well in Google too.

Now THAT’S win-win.

You are a life Saver!!

I recently discovered this site and I can tell you that my life has not been the same. I now come here EVERYDAY and spend at least 1 hour.

I used to spend that time browsing online fashion and beauty magazine which just means that I spend more. Now I have replaced that habit with coming here.

In future I will think about contributing articles as well. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! and God bless"
