If you want to know how to save a marriage, you need to know the most important component is communication.

Communication is the glue of any relationship.

But it is essential in marriage.

Set aside specific times to talk every day.

For instance, if you have time to have breakfast together, put down the newspapers and really talk.

If that doesn’t work for you, consider letting the kids clean up after dinner and the two of you taking a 45 minute walk.

During these daily talking times, you can discuss the little things.

You don’t have to discuss big, tough issues. But it gives you a chance to reconnect.

But the other communications part of how to save a marriage is that you need to set aside to talk about tougher issues.

One way to do this is to have a weekly meeting where you tackle things like the family budget, children’s problems, and work issues.

But, it’s not enough just to talk. You have to act as well.

Perhaps the most important action is reinvigorating your sex life. There is a reason that sex is a critical component of any marriage.

If part of the reason that your marriage is falling apart is that you have let marital relations get boring, or worse, wither away, it is absolutely necessary that you spice things up in the bedroom.

Take a vacation for just the two of you.

It can be a two week long trip to Italy or a weekend camping at a local state park.

But, you need to change the scenery if you want to jump start your sex life.

Another action you need to take in how to save a marriage is to work on the financial aspects of your lives.

One of the major stressors on marriages is where the money is coming from and where it is going.

In the current financial climate, this takes on a double urgency.

Consider making a budget and then sticking to it.

If there is not money for eating out or other luxuries right now, come to terms with that.

Don’t buy anything that is not on the budget. And, remember, secret spending is not sexy.

If you cannot work on these three issues (communication, sex, & budgeting) on your own, consider engaging the services of a family counselor.

He or she can help you work through these things with unbiased eyes.

Your therapist may also refer you to individual counseling so you can work out any issues that you personally bring to the marriage that are complicating things.

So, if you want to stay together long term, you have to know to save a marriage.

You are a life Saver!!

I recently discovered this site and I can tell you that my life has not been the same. I now come here EVERYDAY and spend at least 1 hour.

I used to spend that time browsing online fashion and beauty magazine which just means that I spend more. Now I have replaced that habit with coming here.

In future I will think about contributing articles as well. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! and God bless"
