Picking Your Ceramic planter

Picking your ceramic planter is going to be fun. You no longer have to just settle with the same old boring clay pots that you use to in stores. Now you can walk into a garden area of a store and find a variety of planters awaiting you.

Each one screaming for you to take them home and of course those that just want to make you run out of the store. Ugh, how can anyone want to take that home right?

Remember, it’s all a matter of what you like, not what’s on the shelf. You could just as easily create your own.

A ceramic planter comes in all different sizes and shapes, anything you could possible imagine. I’m sure you may remember a few years back when an entire school used a ceramic planter of a clown and planted cactus.

There are those of us that may have thought see a cactus growing between the legs of a clown was funny, but there are those that also didn’t want to explain to our children why they couldn’t keep these neat clowns.

A ceramic planter may be great to look out but there are a few things you should look out for when you are shopping for one.

First thing to look for, is if it has proper drainage. This is very important because if it doesn’t you can get root damage and your plant can also mold.

If you absolutely have to have that pot, make sure you drill a hole in it when you get home. Be careful, sometimes a pot can split in two when you are drilling it.

These are beautifully designed ceramic pots that can be used indoors or outdoors. A ceramic planter may also last much longer than a clay pot would.

Plus, it is harder to chip them. But this doesn’t mean that they are one hundred percent breakable, a simple drop of the pot and it can shatter into many pieces.

You can find a ceramic planter in the shape of a fish, elephant, cactus or just about any other shape imaginable. If you have a fascination for frogs you can find a planter that is in the shape of a frog hopping or with a bullfrog’s mouth wide open.

Place a small plant inside this planter and out it will grow.

You don’t always have to use a ceramic planter to place flowers in.

You can add a fountain to your garden with a ceramic pot, letting the water cascade into your flower bed.

With just a couple of copper pipes or a regular garden hose you’ll have this up and running in not time.

As you can see, when you go shopping for your ceramic planter there are many to choose from. Get a feel for what you want to use it for.

Are you planting flowers or using it as a decoration? Pick out the one you like better. Start that dream garden today.
