Dog Grooming Vacuums and Blow Driers

Sometimes, brushing your dog’s fur can become a bit of a hassle after awhile. If you’re having to regularly groom your dog, they likely shed quite a bit. You’ll have to keep on taking out all of the hair from the brush, and you need to be sure it’s clean before use in order ensure that your dog is getting a good brush.

If you have the funds and you want to make brushing and grooming a bit easier, you can opt for a dog vacuum or hair dryer instead.

If you want to avoid all the hassle of having to clean up after a good brushing, you can get a variety of different vacuums to clean up the mess as you groom.

For example, there are a number of different vacuum hose attachments that help you with this. All you have to do is connect it to the end of the vacuum you already have, and it’ll work just fine.

These hose attachments can vary in size, shape, and purpose. Some attachments are very complex.

For example, some of them combine a fine brush and a vacuum into one bit, allowing you to brush your dog while also vacuuming up whatever fluffs of fur come with it.

Other attachments are interchangeable, allowing you to go from a thicker brush to a finer one. Often times you can find dog-specific vacuums that can deal with the hair and are much cheaper than a full sized vacuum.

The main advantages of these are that they’re more portable and have a wider hose, so they’ll be less prone to clogging. These vacuums also ensure that you’re using an appropriate amount of vacuum force and you’re not hurting your dog.

With these dog-specific vacuums, you can often reverse the flow of air in order to make it more of a hair dryer, which can be very useful if they just had a bath.

Trying to chase down a wet dog with a towel to dry them down isn’t easy, but if you can get them to stay still and be air-dried, they’ll be dry faster and will also be fluffier.

Some dog dryers come with heating elements built in, which comforts your dog and makes them want to stay there to get dried off.

Many dogs don’t like baths because they get cold after getting out, but by providing a good source of heat and air, they’ll be a lot happier.

Dog Grooming Stands

For all the different kinds of grooming treatments that you need to have your dog undergo, from nail trimmings to fur cleaning, you’re going to want them to be as still as possible.

For many dogs, particularly older ones that are more comfortable with their owners, this isn’t an issue, and they’ll sit still for you.

However, for more skittish breeds or newer dogs, they can move around a lot, making it hard to groom them well.

To fix this, many people have started using dog grooming stands. Grooming stands are tables that help you hold your pet still and in place in such a way that they won’t move around all that much.

This makes almost any grooming practice much easier and safer, because you run much less risk of slipping up and hurting your dog. Grooming stands come in a wide variety of sizes and designs.

For the most part, there are a few key aspects that remain the same. First, you’ll have a bar that comes up over the platform with a leash on it, so it holds your dog steady from above.

Second is what’s called a haunch holder, which supports your dogs from underneath, so they don’t move around too much or sit down.

When your dog is securely in a grooming stand, they should be standing up and fairly still.

The platforms of most grooming stands are comfortable, yet textured so that your dog’s paws won’t be slipping around.

If the platforms were bare metal, they’d likely slip a little bit, and if you were trying to trim their fur or cut their nails, this could cause a lot of issues.

By having a more comfortable, textured base, your dog’s will be able to stay still and won’t have any problems with not wanting to stay on their feet.

You can get various sizes of grooming stands, depending on what breed you have.

For example, if you have a small dog, then you don’t need a large grooming stand. You can get a smaller stand that fits them better and will attach to a countertop.

On the flip side, if you have a much larger dog breed, you might have to get a standalone grooming table that supports their size and weight.

If you get a stand that’s not properly sized for your dog, it could either collapse if your dog is too big or give the dog too much space if they’re too small. Plus, you want one that fits perfectly in your home.
