Goal Planning- Essential First Steps To Success

Learning how to set goals and being able to plan your pathways to success is the key to not only achieving your goals, but being able to also enjoy the journey, or process, to your success.

Once you have decided what it is that you want to achieve in your life, you need to spend some time on goal planning.

Goal setting is one of the most powerful techniques there is for attaining your life’s desires, but you will need to consider a few things before you start.

We must establish our motivation for each goal.

There should always be a strong, compelling reason why we want to attain a goal and the stronger the reason the more motivated we will be towards achieving it.

If we are only lukewarm about our goal, and not really bothered if we don’t achieve it, we are unlikely to be motivated to put in the work required to get it.

Thinking about your goal should send your heart racing, and make you feel excited and inspired.

It should make you want that goal so badly that you are prepared to do whatever it takes, day after day.

If you need to motivate yourself further, find pictures relating to your goal and display them somewhere you will see them every day; these can be pictures of the car you want to own, or the places you want to go and see.

If you want something such as a new career, find images you can associate with this.

Our goals tell us where we want to be, but the process of getting there will be our road map.

As well as setting the goal, we also need to plan how we will achieve it.

We will need a step by step plan of action so that we can take focused action towards our goal on a daily basis.

This is where we need our motivation to drive us forwards.

We now have our motivation, but the scariest thing for many folk is actually making a start on their goal planning.

They feel that they have to get certain things out of the way before they can go after their goals… work’s so busy at the moment so maybe they had better wait a few weeks until it dies down a bit, or they have a lot of bills to pay at the moment so maybe they had better wait until they have a bit of free cash.

Or they are feeling tired lately so they had better wait until they have more energy…

The best time to start planning your goals isn’t next year, next month, or even tomorrow.

It’s now. Right now! It’s all too easy to put things off and promise ourselves we will come back to it, but then we find that we become too comfortable in our routine, and before we know it we are in a rut.

Time slips by us and before we know it we have spend another year in a job we hate, or are no nearer getting that car or vacation we wanted.

If we constantly delay planning our goals we our robbing ourselves of our future, and the life we could be enjoying.

Commit yourself to starting now!
Once you have the motivation to reach your goal, and are committed to taking action today, you will be fired up, ready to start goal planning and finally achieve what you want in life.

You are a life Saver!!

I recently discovered this site and I can tell you that my life has not been the same. I now come here EVERYDAY and spend at least 1 hour.

I used to spend that time browsing online fashion and beauty magazine which just means that I spend more. Now I have replaced that habit with coming here.

In future I will think about contributing articles as well. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! and God bless"
