How to Cope Better With Major Menopausal Symptoms

Every woman experiences a menstrual cycle which starts in her teenage life and continues till her 50's. After that there is an end to this cycle and the period which marks its end is known as menopause. During this period a woman’s ovaries become incapable of producing eggs, and so the egg production stops.

There are many hormonal changes in the body. Due to these changes, a woman may experience a few symptoms, which can be easily overcome if the following tips are kept in mind.

One major symptom of menopause, experienced by most women, is weight gain. If you notice that your pants do not fit now, do not get worried that you are putting weight on by eating a lot of fats and calories. Yes, you are gaining weight, but this is not because of eating, instead it is the result of the hormonal changes.

To cope with weight gain, it is best to take part in a number of physical activities. Try to do more exercise. This is not just for losing weight.

It will also keep you healthy and increase your metabolism. As the metabolism increases, you will lose more weight. Exercise also makes your bones strong.

Another thing experienced by women during this period is bone weakness. Many women are prone to osteoporosis after their menopause, since menopause leads to bone weakness.

Osteoporosis is the term for thinning of bones. This can lead to the easy breaking of bones and to bone fractures.

To avoid such problem, it is best to take extra vitamin and calcium supplements, since these two are very important for good bone health. It is a must for every woman going through the period of menopause to take enough supplements of calcium and Vitamin D.

Hot flashes are another problem experienced during menopause. To cope with them, it is best to stay in cool environments mostly. When you know you are menopausal, make sure to keep a small battery fan with you in your purse wherever you go out.

A small fan will not add much weight to your purse either. Whenever you experience hot flashes, you could just start that fan to cool yourself down.

The above tips can be really beneficial to handle the period of menopause easily.

Although medicines are also available to cope with the symptoms, many people prefer to avoid them, either because of their side effects or because of their cost.
