How To Set Your Life Goals


When was the last time you thought about your life goals? Are you living the life you truly want to live?


Did you always think your life would be very different when you reached your current age?

There are times in our lives which force us to take stock and determine whether our life is going in the direction we want it to.

Quite often we don’t know what we want in life, and may have a vague dissatisfaction with the way our life is going or a general feeling of ‘just wanting more’. But more of what, we don’t exactly know.

If this is you, then you need to spend some time on yourself to find out exactly what your life goals are.

Give yourself some time to work on this; you may wish to purchase a notebook to jot down your thoughts and ideas.

Spend some time thinking about what you want to achieve in each of the following areas of your life;

Career; are you happy with where you are in your chosen career?

Would you like to change your career, if so, what would you like to be doing?

What new skills or knowledge would you need in order to do this? Do you want to start your own business, if so, what would you like to do?

Family; do you want children? If you have children, would you like to be able to spend more time with them?

Are there any family members you would like to see more of?

Are there any vacations you would like to undertake as a family?

Inner Self; are there any aspects of your behavior that are holding you back and that you want to get rid of?

Are there any characteristics that you want to acquire? Do you feel confident or are you lacking in self esteem?

Financial; how much money would you like to be earning each year?

Would you like savings? How much would you like in the bank?

Are there any debts you would like to clear? Do you have any investments?

Physical; would you like to be healthier and fitter? Do you need to lose weight or tone up?

Do you have any medical problems which you would like to be rid of?

Do you have any habits you would like to stop, such as smoking or drinking excessively?

Spiritual; what are your spiritual needs and would you like to develop these?

Do you want to be able to help other people or make the world a better place? Would you like to do more for charity?

Pleasure; where would you like to visit over the course of your life? Where would you like to go? What would you like to see?

What would you like to do? What hobbies would you like to pursue?

What car would you like to own? Where would you like to live? What house would you like?

Just write down anything and everything that comes to you for now. When you have thought about each area of your life, you can refine your thoughts into goals.

Once you have your life goals for each area, break these down; what would you like to achieve within ten years for each goal?

What will you need to have accomplished in five years? What do you need to have completed in a year’s time?

You can break this down even further, and work out what you will need to do each month to stay on track.

Once you have done this, you have a good solid plan for achieving these goals.

This exercise should take you no longer than thirty minutes, but could completely change your life. Most people spend more time reading their emails or watching TV than planning their lives.

You are not most people- by investing a little time and effort you will be well on your way to achieving those life goals.

You are a life Saver!!

I recently discovered this site and I can tell you that my life has not been the same. I now come here EVERYDAY and spend at least 1 hour.

I used to spend that time browsing online fashion and beauty magazine which just means that I spend more. Now I have replaced that habit with coming here.
