What is the Best Halloween Recipe to Make?
There are so many ideas, and no doubt you have your favorite Halloween recipes you prepare every year. But maybe you want a bit of a change from the usual.
Are you looking for a great Halloween recipe to use this year? It certainly helps to have a few good ideas in your repertoire. But whatever else you do you should definitely cook something with pumpkin in it.
Whenever we think about Halloween one of the first things that spring to mind is the infamous Jack o’Lantern, traditionally made from a hollowed out pumpkin.
You’ll probably know that pumpkins are usually pretty large, and it would be a shame to carve one out and waste all the lovely flesh from inside in the process. So why not use it to make some of the best recipes for this time of year?
One particularly good Halloween recipe to try is pumpkin soup.
You can find all kinds of recipes for the soup online and in cookery books, so check out a selection and find one you like the look of. Some of them are slightly more complicated than others, so it pays dividends to look for something straightforward.
Usually the recipe will take a half hour to make, and then all you have to do is cook it. Some people even get smaller pumpkins, split them in two and use them as bowls to serve the soup in!
If you fancy something that appeals to your sweet tooth, what about baking a pumpkin pie? This is basically a pie crust that is filled with a tasty and sweet pumpkin filling.
It looks more like a tart than a pie and is served in big thick wedges with some cream or ice cream, depending on your tastes. It’s good for both kids and adults alike too.
Although if you want to be sure of pleasing the kids you might want to bake some muffins or cakes to serve as well. This particularly applies to parties.
The best way to cook pumpkin cake is to do it as a traybake. This basically just means whipping up the sponge mixture with the pumpkin added in (refer to a specific recipe for the ingredients as they’re all slightly different). Then you just bake it, let it cool and cut it into squares to enjoy as a treat.
We all have different ideas on what the best recipe is for cooking up a Halloween treat. This is based on our own tastes and whether we prefer sweet or savory items.
But since pumpkins are very much a part of the action on the big day, you shouldn’t let the day pass by without trying your hand at a Halloween recipe that includes pumpkin in the list of ingredients.
