Why You Should Get Away For The Weekend

For most of us in a relationship our life is routine. To keep a relationship strong you need to have some fun and spontaneity in it as well as being responsible adults the rest of the time - lol!

Without a break in your routines, and without having some fun activities just for the sake of having fun TOGETHER, you can soon start to drift apart.

Maybe not at first but we eventually come to the point that we go through our days as if we are programmed to do certain things.

We get up with the alarm; get ready for work and out the door we go.

We can see the same sort of pattern with our spouse or significant other.

But just because we are doing those things repeatedly does not mean that we are enjoying them.

It appears that many times life responsibilities take control of everything we do, even down to the conversations we have with our partner.

Our relationship can grow dull and stale as we get into ruts of nothing ever changes and nothing is ever new.

Your goal should be to add a little fun in there when you can.

This does not have to mean those formalized "Date Nights" that sometimes become more of a scheduled chore than a fun night spent in each others company.

Do something spontaneous. Try something new, something different from your usual stuff.

A great way to enjoy a break from the routine and to add a little life to a relationship is to take the time for a weekend getaway.

This break can rejuvenate you and refresh your relationship.

This short period of time away from the routines of life, home and work will offer you and your partner an opportunity to get re-acquainted and to build new memories.

The memories will last and the time together will be special.

You can find a way to make the trip one that you will talk about for years to come.

Not only will it offer an escape from the daily routines and reality but you will find that it will provide some relief from stress and the pressures that you normally feel when you are in your usually surroundings.

This means you can relax and enjoy yourself in a way that you cannot do at home or at work.

Your partner and you should make any difficult subjects off limit for the weekend.

Build nothing but fun and relaxation into this trip.

But, Weekend getaways can be very inexpensive.

The first thing you should remember is that weekends are short so you should not plan the trip for a destination too far from home.

The point is that you do not want the trip built around travel time, instead you want to enjoy the time away.

Depending on your budget and interests you might want to consider a camping trip, which is very inexpensive, a trip to a bed and breakfast, or simply to a nearby town.

Whatever you choose remember that this trip is about the two of you.

I suggest that you plan ahead.

If money is an issue you can take along a cooler packed with drinks and treats to save on eating expenses.

Go someplace that will provide lots of opportunities for window shopping.

Consider walks through parks. Museums can be very interesting and they are an inexpensive way to spend time together.

This trip is not really about how extravagant you can make it but rather it is focused on the two of you finding time to rediscover one another.

Your goal should be enjoying time together.

Decide on ways you can make the trip even more special.

You might want to take along a few candles and a nice bottle of wine.

Perhaps you would want to have a special lotion with you so you and your partner can massage one another.

If you enjoy quiet time, time for contemplation or reading, drawing or writing, you might want to take along books and other needed supplies to enjoy your quiet time.

One word of caution though, do not get so caught up in your quiet time that you forget what the trip is all about!

The point is that you can find ways to make the trip special to you and your partner no matter what your interests are.

Keep your relationship fresh and alive. It is a growing thing that needs attention if it is to thrive!

You are a life Saver!!

I recently discovered this site and I can tell you that my life has not been the same. I now come here EVERYDAY and spend at least 1 hour.

I used to spend that time browsing online fashion and beauty magazine which just means that I spend more. Now I have replaced that habit with coming here.

In future I will think about contributing articles as well. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! and God bless"
